LaShawn Benjamin Ealey is a dedicated healthcare professional, husband, father, and community leader who believes strongly in the power of education to shape the future of our children and our community.
Born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, LaShawn graduated from Northview High School (Class of 2000) before earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tuskegee University. He later earned his Master of Nurse Anesthesia from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
LaShawn is married to Shuntoria Ealey, whom he has known since childhood. Together they have built a strong family centered around faith, education, and community. They are proud parents of five children and are deeply invested in their education and overall development. In 2014, LaShawn and his family moved to Tifton, Georgia, where they proudly call home. As a parent with children in the Tift County School System, he understands firsthand the importance of strong schools, great teachers, and safe learning environments.
LaShawn and his family have been active in the faith community, regularly attending Friendship Missionary Baptist Church prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, where three of his children became members. Today, the family continues to attend services there, as well as Carpenter Road Church of God. LaShawn also maintains his membership at his childhood church in Dothan, Alabama, which they attend whenever they return home.
Outside of his professional career, LaShawn is deeply involved in his children’s activities and youth development. His sons are members of Scouting America, and he actively participates in their scouting activities. LaShawn and his wife are also members of JT Reddick PTO (Parent Teacher Organization), reinforcing the importance of leadership, responsibility, and service.
LaShawn is running for the Tift County Board of Education – District 4 to be a strong voice for students, parents, and teachers, and to help ensure every child in Tift County has the opportunity to succeed.
LaShawn believes strong schools build strong communities and he is committed to putting students first in Tift County.

Every child in Tift County deserves access to a quality education, safe schools, and opportunities to reach their full potential.

Teachers are the backbone of our schools. LaShawn believes teachers should have the resources, support, and respect they need to help students succeed.

Students and parents should feel confident that schools are safe learning environments where children can focus on education and growth.

Strong schools require strong community involvement. LaShawn believes parents, teachers, and community leaders must work together to support student success.
The success of this campaign depends on supporters like you. If you would like to volunteer, host a yard sign, attend events, or help spread the word throughout Tift County, we would love to have you on Team Ealey. Together we can build stronger schools for every child in Tift County!
